The form of the K-groups is computed for the 
algebra which is the
closure of the algebra of b-pseudodifferential
operators of order 0 acting on square-integrable functions on a compact
manifold with corners. Using these computations an equivariant
index theorem with respect to an action of 
is derived.
The relation between these results and the 
-invariant is discussed.
