Chapter 8: Maxima and Minima Problems. Related Rates

Introduction

A maximum or minimum of a function, f, that is not singular between a and b and that lies in the interior of the interval [a,b], must occur where f'=0. This means that differentiation is often useful for computing maxima or minima.
