Exam #2 is held on Friday, 11/16/07, during lecture time in the usual lecture room. It will cover Problem Sets #6-9 and the relevant Lecture Notes (through Sequential Choice). 2007 Rules: You are allowed to bring four sides of 8-1/2 x 11 paper of notes to the exam. (Two sides each of two sheets, or one side each of four sheets.) No calculators and no computers allowed. The questions will be from the topics in the study questions provided in the link below and/or from your problem sets.
The take-home part is due Wednesday, Nov. 28 (extended so you can work on the final draft of your short paper). It should not take two weeks to do.

Exam #1 is held on Friday, 10/12/07, during lecture time in the usual lecture room. It will cover Problem Sets #1-5 and Lecture Notes #1-13. This exam will consist of an in-class and a take-home part. In-Class part: You are allowed to bring notes to class (as many as you can carry), as long as they are in your own handwriting. No calculators and no computers allowed. The questions will be some variants from the study questions provided in the link below and/or from your problem sets. The take-home part will be an encoder/decoder problem to be implemented on the spreadsheet (and possibly another problem) and will be due on Tuesday, 10/16/07.
