Andrew Brooke-Taylor

I am currently a student in the mathematics department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. However, starting in April I will be at the Kurt Gödel Research Center for Mathematical Logic at the Universität Wien (University of Vienna). My current advisor is Professor Gerald Sacks, and in Vienna I'll be working with Professor Sy Friedman.

My username for the maths department computers is andrewbt. To get my email address, put that in front of @math.mit.edu. If you leave out the "math.", it'll still get to me; it'll just go to my other MIT account.

Research Interests

My main area of interest is large cardinal axioms. In particular, I'm currently looking at rank-to-rank embeddings as are posited to exist by axiom "I3". These are "initial segment of the universe V" versions of the elementary embeddings from V to V proven inconsistent by Kunen.

I'm also currently attending the class that Sacks is teaching, and of course the MIT logic seminar each week.

Other

I have another, more freeform webpage.
